Who come up with this decision anyway? there will be a massive gap between players form both servers. One is 2+ years old whereas the other one is 2+months. Image what can you achieve in 2 years and in 2 months. I think there are some people that paid massive money on the main server and pushed admins to merge the servers so they would have new meat to kill from fresh server. There is already people running around with +10 drac sets. I'm not saying it's impossible but the amount of people who have got these items make it very unejoyable to players from NEW server who haven't spent most of those 2 months online.
Mark my words - the online will drop drastically and you will end up losing more money than you will gain now short term.
EDIT: In addition, having played in hundreds of mid rate C6 servers I know that there is a massive drop in players after first heroes. It is amazing that this server managed to keep its online numbers, but when you look at heroes for example, and you see that there is someone who has been hero for 24 consecutive months it just takes the fun away from new/er people
